Welcome to J. H. Godwin Primary School
We would like to welcome you to our website and invite you to visit our school. We aim to 'Inspire and Achieve' in all that we do and develop strong aspirations in all our children to develop the characteristics of confident learners. Our school provides a caring, positive, safe and stimulating environment where the wellbeing and safeguarding of our children and families is at the heart of all that we do.
About our School
We pride ourselves in being READY, RESPECTFUL and SAFE at all times. Please see our School Ethos Song below!
J H Godwin is an established school in Blacon, which has a new school building benefiting from purpose built learning spaces and an outdoor environment that is second to none! We are passionate about creating 'hands-on' learning experiences that form the heart of our curriculum and inspire real learning for all pupils through collaborative learning practices. We teach and develop Building Learning Powers and strong mental health through MyHappy Mind to develop resilient children who can become successful, happy adults. We place great importance on teaching our pupils about job and career pathways to inspire ambitions for the future and are passionate about developing empathy for others and valuing differences through a robust Equality strategy. We operate a trauma informed approach to all of our partners to ensure the best outcomes for all.
Parent feedback: ''A fantastically well managed school. Extremely well mannered staff. A completely positive vibe fills the whole school. Children look happy and well supported. One special quality I love, is that the children are actually listened to.''
''My daughter is extremely happy at this school, she joined towards the end of team 3 and has settled right in. Seeing her come home with a smile on her face is priceless.''
We have breakfast club provision from 7:45am on site each day and our children are able to access after school care until 6pm at a local provider. We work alongside our on site nursery provider Stepping Stones, which means that we have spaces for for 2-11 year olds from 7:45-6:00pm.
