At JH Godwin Primary School, we pride ourselves on supporting and valuing the whole child and can recognise and appreciate achievements beyond the academic.
Our school vision is to equip our pupils to be become well-rounded, confident and responsible global citizens. Our school rules of being ready, respectful and safe, enable us to work and play in a considerate and happy environment. We call our classes Teams, as we believe in collaboration and supporting each other to be the best we can be.
However, to achieve this vision we focus on developing two-character traits each half term. Parents, governors and staff were asked vote on the traits of character they felt the children needed to accomplish our vision Values are fundamental ideas and beliefs that guide a person or organization’s motivations and decisions, such as honesty, transparency, and being helpful.
The following character character traits and values are taught and rewarded over the academic year:
Autumn 1: Respect and Responsibility
Autumn 2: Caring and Kindness:
Spring 1: Courage and Commitment
Spring 2: Patience and Tolerance
Summer 1: Positivity and Resilience
Pupil Activity Passport
To widen the experiences all our pupils have whilst at primary school, we have put together a pupil Activity Passport booklet. Each year group have a list of approximately 20 skills and experiences the children will have the chance to do each year at JHG. To see what the activities each year group will provide, in addition to their everyday curriculum, have a look at the booklet below.
