The School Day

All children should be in school between 8.30am – 8.45 am.

If you arrive after 8.45 pm you will need to come into school via the school office, parents/carers must bring their child/ren into the school office to sign in.

Our school day ends at 3.15pm. When collecting children at the end of the school day, the staff will only hand children over to adults they recognise. If you have to change from your usual routine please let the staff know – keeping the children safe is a priority to us.

At 3.25 pm if your child has not been collected they will be taken to Buddies After School Club, for which their will be a charge.

Please do not park your vehicle in the school car park during the school day.  For their own safety, children should always be taught to use the pedestrian entrance.  If you have a disabled sticker, please see the head teacher or school office staff to make special arrangements.

School Meals/ Healthy Eating

As a school, we adopt a healthy eating policy; therefore, if your child is in Reception, Team 1 or Team 2, we would like parent’s support to encourage their child/ren to have a school meal, which meets government guidelines on healthy eating. Each day there is a choice of a hot meal, a jacket potato with a selection of toppings or a sandwich/wrap, again with a choice of fillings. Sample menus and the school healthy eating policy will be emailed.

We also encourage children to drink water throughout the school day, rather than juice. No fizzy drinks are permitted. For our schools heathly eating policy click here.

School Communications

The school currently uses School Gateway to send you texts/emails and information you may find useful.

It is important you download the Gateway app and take time to read any communications that you receive to ensure that you are kept fully informed about what is happening in school.

It is also through this app that parents can make payments for school meals and trips.

Any changes to phone numbers/email/home address must be reported to the Office so we have the most up to date contact information.

Sickness/Illness

If your child is sick, you should ring before 9.00 am each day of their absence.  You can leave a message on the answer machine, stating their name, class and the reason for their absence.

If your child is well enough to come to school but requires any medication, this needs to be brought to the Office where you can fill in the necessary forms and we will be able to administer their medicine during the school day.

Valuables

Jewellery should NOT be worn to school, and we do not accept any responsibility for any which is lost or causes injury to the wearer.  Young, active children are hindered by wearing jewellery.  If your child has pierced ears please make sure that s/he does not wear earrings on PE days or they will have to remove them or have plasters placed over them.  These procedures are in place for your child’s health and safety.

Children should be dissuaded from bringing valuable items to school, as we are unable to take responsibility for loss or damage to these items.

Health and Safety

For Health and Safety reasons dogs and other animals are not allowed on the school site. Carers with guide dogs should make arrangements with the Head teacher. For the health and safety of everyone no smoking or vaping is allowed anywhere on the school premises including the playground and the field. The Governors have designated the school a non-smoking site.   Please note that this policy operates at all times including sports days, concerts and parent teacher meetings.

Parents Evenings

Parents evenings are held twice a year – the first in the Autumn term and then again in the Spring.
